Tis the season to be lazy

You know this time last year I was all over it.  Had all the Christmas shopping done, had the xmas tree up.  Mr S would have had all the xmas lights up on the house, done on the last weekend in November which was the weekend just gone.  We have done nothing!! For the first time I just can't seem to get into it.

I have been concentrating more on baby things.  28 weeks today (yay for me).  It's been all about baby shopping, haven't really given that much thought to xmas shopping.  I have told Mr S that for the first time I don't mind that much (I still mind a little) that the lights are not up on the house but have reminded him with having a 10 month old next xmas, it will be Christmas on steroids.  More lights will have to be purchased, bring on the sales and it will be like the Griswalds have come to Queensland.  I am sure he will fight me on this though, I'm ready for it, bring it on!!

I can't even be bothered to put the xmas tree up.  Terrible I know but that's how I am feeling.  Just starting to struggle a little with the whole pregnancy thing.  It's been a breeze up until about 2 weeks ago.  Starting to get the swollen fingers and feet.  Getting very sore feet if I spend to much time on them, which has been mainly at Ikea.  I can't seem to stay away from the place.  I was there last Thursday and then went back again today.  I am hoping today was my last trip.  I don't think I need anything else from there.  Starting to need nana naps again in the afternoon (just finished one).  Needed them very early on in the pregnancy and it's all started again.

I was saying to Mr S yesterday that I wish I could just wave a wand and the xmas tree would be up and all the lights would be done as well.  Mr S has been busy in the backyard on another project otherwise I think he would have done the lights.  It's looking good so far and I can't wait to share it with you.  A little tip though, it has been inspired by something that we saw on another blog that I recently discovered and just love.
Bubby Makes Three, pop on over and check it out.

My favourite holiday movie, Love Actually.  Will watch this at some stage before xmas.  Do you have a favourite that you like to watch?
I also like the Santa Claus movies with Tim Allen.

This is what I got.....

Remember my post from Sunday night about "what are you having for dinner tonight?"  Well this is what I ended up with, not bad Mr S.  Very close to what I really wanted.  Well done you!!

BBQ'd steak with not chips but some BBQ'd potato slices and a spinach, cherry tomato and fetta salad with a lemon basil dressing.

I know it's not cheesecake but vanilla ice cream with milo, yummy!!

Feeling rather tired today, had an obstetrician appointment this morning and all is going well, was in and out of there so quickly.  It's very nice to be considered an easy patient at the moment.  At least our ob knows our history, so he knows that it hasn't been easy getting to where we are now My feet have been getting a bit sore and swollen over the last couple of days.  The change in the weather hasn't helped.  Here in Brisbane the last few days has been a bit warm.  Even resorted to having the air conditioning on all day yesterday.  First time but it was nice to just laze around on the couch in the cool air catching up on some tv.

peace out peeps!!

BIG Exciting News

I have been very reluctant to actually share this news on such a public forum but I think now is the time for it to be shouted from the roof tops.  I am pregnant, that's right!! Finally after 7 years and thousands of dollars on numerous IVF treatments Mr S and I are finally having a baby.  As I write this I am 26 weeks today.  Our journey has been a very long one with some highs and a fair few lows.  We were ready to give up at the end of this year thinking it just wasn't meant to be.  During our journey I got pregnant 3 other times and miscarried.  This one however has decided to stick around.  Here is a picture of our gorgeous little boy due to come into this world on February 21 2011.

So now I have the fun task of decorating a nursery (something I have always wanted to do).  After reading so many other blogs and oooing and ahhhing and wishing I could do something like it, I finally get to do my own.  I will look forward to showing you our progress.  Being on a budget will be interesting.  I have already bought a fair bit of stuff but still have some more to go.  Wish us luck!!

What are you having for dinner tonight??

What exciting things are you having for dinner tonight?  I am feeling a bit tired and can't be bothered to cook anything but would love for something like this to turn up in front of me in approximately 1 hour.  What do you think my chances are?

And then for desert I think I could cope with this.

Nigella's peanut butter cheesecake.  I am sure Mr S should be able to whip this all up in an hour???
